2009 Highlights

June

  • June 30th: NCQMA Summer Series--Alex set fast time in Sr. Honda and raced to a 3rd place finish in the A Main. He also finished 3rd in the Lt. 160 A Main.
  • June 23rd: NCQMA Summer Series--Alex qualified second fastest in Sr. Honda and went on to finish 4th in the A Main. He also finished 4th in the Lt. 160 A Main.
  • June 20th: NCQMA Points Race--After spinning in qualifying, Alex won the Sr. Honda A Main starting from the seventh position. He finished 4th in the Lt. Mod A Main Carolina Cup race, and finished 6th in the Lt. 160 A Main.
  • June 16th: NCQMA Summer Series--Alex won the Sr. Honda A Main and finished 4th in the Lt. Mod A Main.
  • June 13th: NCQMA Region 3 Race--Alex qualified 3rd in Sr. Honda, 3rd in Lt. Mod, and 7th in Lt. 160. He finished 6th in the Sr. Honda A Main. He finished 10th after quite an eventful Lt. 160 B Main finish and went on to finish 7th in the Lt. 160 A Main.  Unfortunately, Alex pulled off the track and didn't finish the Lt. Mod A Main, resulting in a 7th place finish.

May

  • May 30th: NCQMA Carolina Cup & Points Race--Alex set fast time in Sr. Honda and went on to finish 3rd in the Sr. Honda Cup race. He qualified 2nd in Lt. Mod and finished 3rd in the feature. Alex qualified 4th in Lt. 160 and finished 2nd in the A Main.
  • May 23rd: Huntsville QMA States Race--Alex qualified 7th in Sr. Honda, 3rd in Lt. 160, and 4th in Lt. Mod, but we left Huntsville after two days of intermittent rain before the feature events ever started.
  • May 9th: NCQMA Points Race--Alex set fast time in Sr. Honda and went on to win the A Main--his first Sr. Honda win!!! He qualified 2nd in Lt. Mod and finished 2nd in the A Main. Alex qualified 6th in Lt. 160 and finished 8th in the A Main.

April

  • April 25th: Region 3 Race at N. Georgia--Alex qualified 10th in Lt. 160 putting him on the pole for the B Main; however, he was involved in an accident as soon as the green flag dropped resulting in a 7th place finish. He qualified 3rd in Lt. Mod, and finished 2nd in the A Main.
  • April 18th: NCQMA Points Race--Alex won his Sr. Honda heat race and went on to finish 7th in the A Main. He finished 3rd in both the Lt. Mod and Lt. 160 heat races and A Mains.
  • April 4th: NCQMA Points Race--Alex finished 2nd in the Sr. Honda B Main, and 7th in the A Main. He finished 3rd in the Lt. Mod A Main and 5th in the Lt. 160 A  Main.

March

  • March 21st: NCQMA Fun Race--Alex finished 4th in the Sr. Honda B Main and went on to finish 4th in the A Main as well. He finished 2nd in the Lt. Mod A Main and 4th in the Lt. 160 A Main.

February

  • February 14th: Columbus Indoor Winternationals--In Sr. Honda, Alex started last in his heat race and raced his way to a 5th place finish putting him in the C Main. He started 9th in the C Main and was passing for 2nd on the checkered flag lap when he was chopped and pushed into a tire ending his race in a DNF! Oh well, that's racing! Alex started last in the Lt. Mod A Main and raced his way to a 6th place finish.

January

  • January 17th: Columbus Indoor Winternationals--Alex finished 3rd in both his Sr. Honda and Lt. Mod heat races. He finished 2nd in the Sr. Honda B Main, and went on to start 8th in the A Main. He raced amazingly well with a fast car and finished 2nd in the Sr. Honda A Main. Alex started the Lt. Mod A Main, his first Lt. Mod feature race ever, but pulled off the track before finishing the race.

2008 Year-in-Review
